Rock Bottom - make do with the basics

Yesterday we entered the Emporium of Delights, a shop if you like that can only be found at Rock Bottom. It may sound like something out of a Sponge Bob Episode but the place truly exists and can only be entered by those officially at Rock Bottom, those who really can go no lower down in life.

Rock Bottom is a terrific place to be and I will keep repeating it. Rock Bottom Rocks!

When at Rock Bottom and you are in the Emporium of Delights as mentioned yesterday it is a huge temptation to choose everything that exists. Today I will tell you about the basics, the stuff your mother always kept in the pantry to feed the family at lean times. In this case it's not the packets of pasta, long life milk and other such basics of a culinary nature but the basics of life, the string and sticky tape if you like.

The first thing you must take is the Freedom of Choice, Free Thought - the Law Of Attraction dictates that we all have this but few of us grasp it with both hands and use it to our benefit, now is you chance to do it, grab it and make it work - here is the place to find it!

The Basics

What are the basics in life. Essentially they are at the bottom of Maslows Hieracy of needs and before anything else is put in your Rock Bottom Shopping Cart you must take these. Oh yes, the cool thing about the candy shop in Rock Bottom it that everything costs nothing.

Make sure you have the basics. A roof over your head and food is the absolute basic. At Rock Bottom you cannot be fussy, accept what you can afford. In my case this has meant a move from a decent, private and cosy house to a small, basic room in someone Else's house. At Rock Bottom those who are your true friends will look up to you and will understand you have had to move down the ladder a little or even a lot.

The biggest basic you need to take is pride. Being at Rock Bottom others may see as a bad place. When down at Rock Bottom accept it and try to imagine it as a happy place. Pride will take a knock but it is only when your pride is knocked or you are kicked when you are down that you often see the true way forward. Take the package marked pride and keep looking into the empty box it comes in and see yourself head held up, shoulders back and on top of the world.

The other basic is ability. What can you do? What are you good at? Everybody is good at something. There is a man I know in the UK that was good at cleaning windows, well educated but no university degree or real chances of a high powered job. He knew he was good at cleaning and now after a long hard struggle and going to Rock Bottom owns a hugely successful cleaning business, has a wonderful wife and great kids. If you are good only at something that may seem menial start doing it to earn income, do it well and work up - there are a huge number of hugely satisfied cleaners in the world! Take ability and apply it - ask those around you "what am I good at?" and maybe expect to be hurt or even surprised.

The final basic you need is courage. Courage to face every day. Courage to do things a little different. Courage to be you. Taking a job you may not like or want to take take for whatever reason is often when is required. It sometimes goes back to pride "what will my friends say". Stop it! It's you right now and you alone not what others think or say. As long as it is positive for you then it is right for you, and it may just be a simple stepping stone to keep breathing!

Yes, all this may all sound like something out of the Wizard of Oz but the story of Dorothy trying to get home is very much the story of Rock Bottom. The parallels between Rock Bottom and Oz is actually quite real. Everybody in with Dorothy and Dorothy herself are looking for a way forward, not out of, but forward from their current position and they all are seeking one thing and it is not a thing it is a who. "Who can I ask?" is the one question at Rock Bottom so many do not ask and right now at Rock Bottom you have the luxury to ask so ask away!

You now have the basics. All of them in the mind, all of them free of charge. Now it is time to make the final step. Tomorrow I'll tell you what that is and what is so vital and unique about Rock Bottom.

Rock Bottom - The Emporium of Delights

Yesterday I mentioned that Rock Bottom was the ultimate place to be. Granted it is not the nicest place to be but it is the ultimate place to be. Even in Napoleon Hill's book "think and grow rich" it is clear that many very wealthy and hugely successful people have been at Rock Bottom or at least the very end of the road before a meteoric climb.

"Where am I right now?"

This is the first question you need to ask and answer honestly, without a 100% honest answer you cannot even begin to get out of Rock Bottom and you may even realise that upon your honest answer you are nowhere near Rock Bottom.

For me the answer has been painful, a soul searching period and one that is more frightening than any Stephen King novel. It's time when you look in the mirror and look at yourself and ask "how do others REALLY see me?". Mine hurt and my findings were not as I had thought them to be for over 35 years. I have blamed too many in the past and on the reverse used too many, the truth is me and that it what you need to find. The only place you will find it is in the solitude of Rock Bottom!

Once you know where you are and who you are only then can The Emporium of Delights begin to be opened. Like child in a candy shop the delights of Rock Bottom make ones eyes open like saucers and there is an immediate desire to grab as much as possible and stuff ones face. STOP!

I have learned the in the Rock Bottom Candy Store you need to choose what you want carefully and in moderation, remember you want to rise up and extra weight always prevents this. Like snow of the wings of a Boeing the extra weight and consequences of what is on the wings can prove fatal! At Rock Bottom you have all the time in the world for your pre-flight checks, do them, repeat them, check them and do them again.

Entering the Emporium of Delights

Now that you have done everything possible to find out and confirm that you are at Rock Bottom you may enter, you have the key now use it!

The doors of life will now open to you. Other around you may well be the ideal guide or they may well get you lost hoping to keep you down, you need to learn who to trust and learn also to trust yourself more. Having the right people giving the right advice will be the only way that can lead to the ultimate benefit of Rock Bottom that will be revealed in the next few days.

The First Gift from Rock Bottom

The Emporium of Delights offers many gifts, some to help many to hinder, but all have 2 unique traits. Each and Every one of them is a choice you make and Each and Every one of them is controlled in your mind. I am not going to go on and on about the law of attraction but with a little reading you will soon see there is quite a lot of truth in "what you think is what you get" - for a fuller understanding click here.

The first gift from Rock Bottom is Freedom of Choice. You cannot sink any further and you can now choose the direction you wish to go, there is only one real choice. You can choose what, how, where and why you want to do. You have the Freedom to choose even the most outrageous or risky options to gain momentum. Working for yourself may be the answer or you may have to work for a boss. At Rock Bottom you have the power to choose.

Remember with Freedom of Choice comes acceptance of the outcome, yes you can get knocked down but at Rock Bottom the fall may be painful like a boxer being repeatedly punched to the head, but the fall is short. However the right choice has massive consequences because mentally a small step seems a lot bigger at Rock Bottom. Remember your Pre-Flight Checks to ensure you have made the right choice!

Freedom of Choice is something we are all born with. We have complete control over our thoughts and our actions but many of us have not passed the drivers test for the use of thought and action and most of us fail to accept the consequences preferring to blame others or use others - I was in the box! I am stepping out of it now...follow me!

The first parcel you have to open in the Emporium of Delights is the small scruffy one with your name on the tag, in the very dull wrapping paper buried by all the other shining, fantastic looking parcels. All that Glisters is not Gold and at Rock Bottom nothing is more true. Open up the parcel and you will see it is something you already have but have never used...you and your thoughts! It is also a clean sheet of paper to begin a fresh, successful life!

Tomorrow...I'll start on the road out of Rock Bottom and finally to the conclusive answer that makes Rock Bottom such a great place to be!

Rock Bottom - where is it?

In the last 3 weeks I have reached rock bottom. I am happy I am down here with the rubbish of life, I have spent a few days in the flea pit from hell and have learned something, something I want to share with you...

Rock Bottom is Hard. It's not a soft, comfy pillow with silk sheets. Rock Bottom is cold, uncomfortable and has nothing soft or cosy about it.

I questioned why Rock Bottom like this and than asked how can I use it?

Many people think they have reached Rock Bottom but have come nowhere close. Rock Bottom is a place few truly know or appreciate. Many think they have reached Rock Bottom but have not, they can do a great deal more and make some significant lifestyle choices before reaching the anti-pinnacle of life. Until you reach Rock Bottom you either float downwards until all options have been tried, tested and proven or you slowly float towards the middle before gently sinking again to the same point you were before you started to float. It's common for well over 90% of those who think they have reach the lowest of the low Rock Bottom to float, almost hover, between the point of lowness to the level of not quite achieving success. Like many they never fully gain the life they need and end up in a cycle of peaks and troughs without paying much attention to the whys and the hows.

Rock Bottom is a place from Hell but it has something that no other place has. It has Rock and Bottom. It maybe hard as steel, and miserable and sin itself but Rock Bottom is the only place to be if you demand success in life and you want to break through the other Rock called a ceiling that holds so many back.

Rock Bottom is a place of resourcefulness, a place of opportunity and a place to plan. At Rock Bottom you are in the ultimate restaurant and shopping mall of dreams and ambition. A gastronomy of opportunity is to be found. But, and it is a massive BUT...you need to be at Rock Bottom to enter, find and use anything available... desperation is the key!

Rock Bottom is a life changing place, mine is changing and fast and with a little help I am finding I can do something unimaginable and seemingly impossible without what is perceived as the fuel to make it happen...tomorrow I start you on a road to recovery...a road to success...

Right now, I am almost divorced, almost homeless, certainly flat broke but I am at Rock Bottom and filling up with fuel...and happy...

The Power of the Crowd

Are you afraid of large crowds?
Are you afraid of open spaces?

Many people are afraid of one or other of the above and rarely both.

I am afraid of open spaces but not the kind you are perhaps thinking about. Open spaces in my life are frightening and the gaps need to be kept filled. I get distracted, become unfocused and hate it. Having something or someone is essential and I find even more so for me to have the life I demand.

So what is it with large crowds or even a small crowd. There is a saying that two heads are better than one and this is so true when seeking motivation or trying to get a job well done. However, if the heads oppose one another than it can prove fatal. I enjoy having a crowd or a small group focusing on one or particular items and am now seeing results.

Churches do the focused group thing well. Schools actively encourage small study groups, the recent and ongoing strike in South Africa has pretty much enforced this. Companies apply it every day. Crowds work.

Yes we all need time alone and this is the time to recharge our battery, chill and relax. My alone time has been today, I have worked hard all week and almost burnt out and now, and even my wife says so, I need my quiet time. I am using it and using it to get me fired up again for the next challenge.

But how did get on to the crowd thing?

It started with a coffee in the sun with a business partner of mine. For 7 years we have worked together, often with differing views, to get a business off the ground. We both believe in the law of attraction and have both read Think and Grow Rich. We both know our success is just around the next corner which we know we can see around.

We have stumbled upon crowd sourcing or funding. This is using a group of likeminded people sharing a load or a cost to make something happen. We wish we had found it 7 years ago but are happy we have found it now.

With the Law of Attraction nothing can happen unless you act and to have many acting at the same time is awesome.

Get cracking on your success today and allow the crowd to help you. From the monet we decided to implement the crowd theory we hit success, we have been placed in the running for $250,000 and are currently number 4 on the list when we started at 3000 and something. We have imagined, pictured, let go to universe, acted and now await the manifestation the the law has to provide as it has no other choice.

Get yourself motivated today!

How much is a smile worth?

It has been said "no one needs a smile so much as those who have none to give"

Are you smiling?

Can you ever afford not to smile?

A smile like a picture says a thousand words. Your smile may be the one thing that motivates just one person and do you know just how much that means? If your smile can infect just one person then you have done more than many people will do in a lifetime of business.

Your smile costs you nothing, not a cent! Your smile may be the most valuable thing you possess!

A smile is priceless and in some cases a smile has even cost persons life or saved one. Valuable and powerful weapon anybody owns.

Smiling can hide a heavy heart or a weary soul. Smiling can hide a secret. Smiling can tell the world anything or nothing.

Look around you. Look how many miserable faces there are. Look at them and smile at them. The simple act of smiling can change a great deal.

A change of blog

"Change is the only constant" we are always told time and time again by numerous authorities, some with less clout than others.

So how can change be a motivator?

In some environments change creates a sense of readiness and this keeps people on their toes. Change in sport can be the scoring of a goal or the crashing or a formula 1 car. Change in life is something we all need to expect, respect and understand.

I learn every single day that I am here for a purpose. That purpose changes very little but my steps to achieving my purpose change frequently, sometimes a little too frequently.

So, how can change motivate me?

Firstly acknowledge it. If this is not done you cannot ever even expect to be motivated.

Secondly find the positive in it.

Change should drive you and spur you on to tackle it either head on or be grateful for the help it has give you.

Today I made a lot of changes in myself, even this blog. This blog is no longer a Be Motivated Today advert (there is an ad but it is not all about it). Today this blog is me, talking to you and rambling on!

So today I want to say:

Yes you can achieve
Yes you can win
Yes you can Kick Butt!

Weather Forecasts

Weather Forecasts we hear and see almost every day. All over the world it is commented that the English are obsessed by the weather. How much does the weather impact on our behaviour and more importantly our motivation?

A weather forecast is a glimpse into the future, rarely 100% accurate but a relatively good indication of what is to come. Many of us plan our entire existence around what the weather is going to do, others rely on the weather forecast being accurate and for some it make absolutely no difference whatsoever. What category do you fall into?

Here is a an example:

On Friday my family and I are going camping. Camping at a stunning place called Beaverlac we will be fairly exposed to the elements. We want good weather, it doesn't have to be excellent weather but just preferably dry.

How is the weather impacting my motivation to camp?

It is impacting me a little but I have a positive outlook at have said to myself and my family no matter what we are going and we are going to enjoy. We have discussed the fun and positives sides of the trip. Yes, winter is fast approaching in South Africa but life goes on and life is needed to be lived.

I know plenty of others who have packed away their camping equipment already now that the seasons are changing.

I look back to my farming days. A fine weather farmer, that was me. I could not find anything positive about going to work outdoors in windy, freezing wet weather counting cattle or sheep on foot feeling miserable. Looking back I can find positives and what would now be motivation.

Life was less stressful and was at a slower pace. Right now I would kill for that pace of life to be back. The weather didn't last forever and because it was foul I could work faster and soon get home to my log fire and steaming cup of tea. The farm staff had longer coffee breaks in the shed. So actually despite the awful weather the job was made easier, the better weather in the summer had me working longer, harder hours for what was then a very small income.

Weather patterns impact a lot all over the world but no matter what the weather is rain or shine there is something positive in it. All you have to do is find and focus on it and the negative parts seem to go away or at least fade into the background.

Be Motivated Today has helped me see the good, the positive and fun in pretty much anything. It has also taught me that I can succeed no matter what and so can you.

So look outside and be thankful for whatever weather you have. It will not last forever and say to yourself I can and will be happy, positive and motivated today and then kick yourself, let go and do whatever you have to do with a great big smile!

Death and Motivation

Yesterday was a black Monday for me.

Everyone of us dreads bad news and dreads news of death even more. I took a triple whammy yesterday with the news of the death of 3 very close people all of them overseas. Emotionally it was a shock and my mind focused away from normal life briefly.

But how could news like this be a motivation?

It's actually easy when one simply sits back and realises who is in control. God and Jesus Christ play a massive role in my life and consoling myself on the fact that I am not in control just helped.

But death itself is something we should all use to motivate ourselves. Scary but true.

Death is the End. Death is final.

But here's the motivation. What will people say about you once you have gone? Will your life have been worthwhile living? Will you have spent all your time working and ignoring life?

Many of us don't look forward to death. For some it is a blessed release for others it is knowing they are going to be with their maker. But for the vast majority of us it is something we do not think about. I have been thinking about it a lot this past 24 hours or so. Even reading a story to my son about Mummies in Egypt made me think.

What changes can you make in your life to get more from life? Earn More? Work Less? Change my life focus? Change habits?

How many of you are motivated enough to to do any or all of the above?

I am now more motivated than ever before to do all of the above and I can teach you how to ass well. Be Motivated Today and my faith in Jesus combined is a lethal weapon in the fight to live a good even great life. I am now living it...are you?

As we get close to Easter for Christians it is a time where we focus on not death but life. Yes Christ died on a cross but he gave life to us all. I have now taken that and added Be Motivated Today. My life is full and rich and rewarding and those around me had better watch out because your lives will be full, rich and rewarded!

Today is a weird posting. For those who want to find out more please contact me.

A Better way to live

Arnfried Klein-Werner sent me an email today and it started with the following:

"Become intentional about finding good in others. The minute you meet a person, find something to compliment them about. Perhaps their name, their smile, their clothes or something else about their appearance. When you see colleagues, first have something positive to say to them before anything else is said. Try to compliment, encourage or praise everyone as the first thing you say (after the greeting, of course). Especially with your spouse or children. You will benefit by the way others start treating you with kindness and respect."

Sometimes the simplest of things can make a massive difference. We are all I am sure aware of the so-called Butterfly-effect where just the simple beat of a butterfly's wings can turn the world upside down. How proven or true this is I a not so sure but it does kind of make sense.

Today is Monday. Often the day where most arguments happen and pretty much always the day when a person feels at their most grumpy. Just having someone say something complimentary can change the course of the entire week. I have done just that today and it's made a huge difference. Somethings have said or done include:

1. Comment on how awesome a colleague's blog was in a sales meeting
2. Congratulate a colleague personally for a job well done
3. Taking note of the receptionists new hair - yes us men can do it!

These 3 things have a made a difference in the life of 3 people and guess what they return the favour. The favour is not returned instantly but within the next few days it will be - watch this space!

So here is a challenge for today. How literally can you take Arnfried's statement? Go ahead and let me know!

Looking forward to a weekend

It's Friday.
It's Midday.
It'
s the end of the week. It's almost weekend.

We all look forward to a weekend don't we. Here is a challenging question "why do so few of us look forward to Monday or even Tuesday?".

The answer for the majority is that the weekend means a couple of days of no work, some rest and no nagging boss.

Here is a challenge. Could you focus the looking-forward-to-the-weekend energy and enthusiasm into something else that would make you look forward to every tomorrow?

Motivated people look forward to anything. They have a unique mindset, a mindset that frustrates even sickens some. I have learnt in recent weeks to channel my Looking-Forward-To-The-Weekend energy, hence this blog to a degree.

I go to bed less worried knowing that whatever happens tomorrow will happen and in many ways it is out of control until tomorrow. I go to bed with the mindset that tomorrow I will fly higher and further. I have set my goals and know my steps and knowing these is like a sleeping pill.

So, it is Friday, it is almost weekend and yes I am looking forward to it like I am looking forward to Monday and every day next week.

The are probably less than 10% of people like me in the world. But over 90% of people can easily have the same positive approach and me motivated.

So...today I leave you with this...you are looking forward to the weekend but what are you looking forward to during the working week? If there is nothing, only worry and frustration about going back to a dead-end job then find something, even a tiny something such a cookie with your coffee. Find a positive grain of sand and before long you will have an entire beach.

Pelicans and other Pelicans

Short and sweet today I am afraid.

Pelicans were most certainly not designed to fly. But somehow the clumsy yet graceful bird does. How often have you looked up to see not only Pelicans but other birds fly?

Tomorrow I'll tell you about the freedom of Birds. But today it's all a matter of getting their.

We all known their is no I in TEAM but as we all know every TEAM does have it's wannabe I. Pelicans rely on Teamwork. They use each other to win their daily battle with the wind. Look at them when they fly. They fly, like Geese, in Formation. Why?

I am told it is that they get extra lift from the wings of the others. So why don't we as humans do the same?

OK we can't flap our arms and fly but we can soar to massive heights and we can't do it alone. We need others around us and the only way to get those around us to help us get to where we want to be is to Motivate them and encourage them. Be Motivated Today teaches anyone how to do this a reach their own goal in life whilst also helping other reach theirs. Visit my website.

So Today I leave you with these thoughts:

"Pelicans rely on other Pelicans to get the job done"

  • You can fly
  • You can fly high
  • Others can fly with you

Ask yourself:
am I ready to fly?
Do I have a flock that will help me fly higher?

Do I have any other Pelicans I can rely on?

Flying with the Pelicans

Wind. Many of us hate it. But really we must learn to love Wind.

Madness you say, wind is awful and often terrifying even lethal.

As I sit here looking outside the window the wind is howling around me. Ok, Cape Town has a good supply of wind often an overflow of the stuff. But I look and think what does the wind really do, why does it annoy me so and why does it never seem to stop?

The wind if it were a human being would be a highly successful and powerful person indeed. Unlike most humans the wind does what it does and sticks to it and does it better and better. We all try to fight the wind but the wind wins pretty much every time – I look up at the pelicans trying to fight it but eventually….I’ll get to this bit a little later.

The wind does what is does and sticks to it. Now if that is not motivation through sheer confidence then I don’t what is! It blows but more than that it respects those it blows towards or from. Too much wind has us crying “stop!” or “go away!” and too little “oh I wish there was just a gentle breeze!” Imagine if you had something in you that people crying for you to stop when you give it and for you to carry on when you cease giving it? Wow! Life would be different for us all yet in many ways we can all be in this position.

First of all we need to understand the force of wind in our lives. We need to know what drives us, what pulls us and when the balance is just right. I go back to the pelicans. For thousands of years men looked up to the sky and wished to fly like the birds until eventually the Wright brothers managed to fly, albeit for a short time and distance. They knew about the wind in their lives and were not put off by the many hefty gusts that often can close to destroying the entire project.

Pelicans are a great example of understanding the wind in your life. Huge, great big birds not really designed for the art of flying have a goal or destination. With little or no wind this destination is easy and quick to get to but once the Cape Doctor starts to blow the goal becomes a little more of a challenge. Pelicans read the wind; one can almost share their frustration as they end up flying sideways in completely the wrong direction. But watch them longer and you will them adjust their pitch and lift letting the wind drive them and in some cases almost pull them in a more circular passage to their destination. Eventually after never giving up they get to their destination only to repeat the whole exercise 2 or 3 times a day often more.

So, are you able to read the wind in your life and fly like a pelican? I am learning to and I am slowly changing from Pelican to Eagle whilst retaining my Pelican Instinct.

If you are a pelican wanting to become an eagle then visit my website.

Happy Flying!

Long weekend

Its a Long weekend in Cape Town and I am chilling.

Some motivational thoughts and words:

No matter where you are in the world somewhere it is the end of a day or the beginning. I prefer to be at the beginning wanting to get going!

Remember every one of us was born to succeed and we all have it in us we just need to find it!

Short, sweet and to the point.

If you can do it in 5 minutes why waste and hour !

Fumes, Radio and all in one direction

Sitting in the traffic this Friday morning I asked myself "why do I do this?"

Heavy N1 Cape Town bound traffic, fumes from others all around me, news on the radio that makes you pretty much want to slit your wrists with a perfect view of Table Mountain and stunning blue skies - something was and is wrong?

If I am sat in the traffic with countless others with roads feeding into this one with more all heading in the same direction something must be motivating us. Life itself is the driving force. We all need to eat and live and to do this we punish ourselves daily. Us humans are little more than sheep.

Now, channel the desire to live into motivation to live better and get out of this Motorway to Hell as Chris Rea Sang "
Stood still on a highway
I saw a woman
By the side of the road
With a face that I knew like my own
Reflected in my window
Well she walked up to my quarterlight
And she bent down real slow
A fearful pressure paralysed me in my shadow
She said 'son what are you doing here
My fear for you has turned me in my grave'
I said 'mama I come to the valley of the rich
Myself to sell'
She said 'son this is the road to hell'

On your journey cross the wilderness
From the desert to the well
You have strayed upon the motorway to hell

Note "the valley of the Rich" the area we are all travelling to.

U Turn!

It's time to visit your own valley no
t the valley of someone else.

It's time to make a change!

Jim Rohn says: "Of all the things that can have an effect on your future, I believe personal growth is the greatest. We can talk about sales growth, profit growth, asset growth, but all of this probably will not happen without personal growth. It's really the open door to it all."

Are you ready to grow, change and get out of the fumes and bad news radio?

I wish life was easy. But it is not. The sooner we face that reality the faster we can work at becoming successful. Although the work required to succeed with Be Motivated Today, is easy. You still have to learn to do it. And it takes time to learn. Then you have to do it. And because it is a numbers game, you have to persevere and do it every day. It may even feel like hard work at times.

But if you have struggled financially, like I have and you have seen how our system is really giving people passive income, then you know the only way, is to persevere. Financial success does not come easy. You have to work and trust those who have walked the road ahead - Hold hands and take a leap of faith Visit my website today!

Motivation is in the air...just breathe

Yesterday was an awesome day.

I took notice of every word of motivation I was given. I spoke with some very influential people including former SA Business Woman of the year Suzann Botha at World Estates as well as some very normal even humble people. All gave me upliftment and encouragement without me even asking for it.

Motivation is something we all need, motivation is something we can all give. And guess what...??? It costs nothing.

I have seen motivation in others in the past 24 hours too. I have seen another blog created to drive new business and get a new message out there, I have seen people change their lifestyle to get more out of life and work and I have seen others fall down because they cannot find the motivation to carry on.

Motivation is all around us and all you have to do is breathe it in.

I was asked today why did I join Be Motivated Today? It actually made me think. An email from Be Motivated today said " Why did you join Be Motivated Today, Matthew?
What are your financial goals?
What do you want to do with your life?

Think about your financial goals every day. Let them motivate and inspire you to put in the required work every day. (only 9 -15 minutes). Imagine how terrible it will be if you never reach those goals. Imagine how wonderful you will feel when you do reach them."

This made me think and thanks to all those who even without knowing it boosted me I have not so much changed but improved my changes.

So...where do I leave you today?

Easy, have something positive to say to everyone you speak to. Even if you are worst enemies say something positive. This is nothing biblical or religious but love your enemy and use your motivation of them to motivate you. Every action it is said has an equal and opposite reaction. With saying something positive this simple action takes out the equal and makes it greater on both sides.

Calves and Milk in a bucket

Growing up in a farming community I was used to hard work at very painful hours. Today it seems that 3AM does not even exist on my watch and it vanishes even further in winter.

On the farm in the UK were 2 dairy herds. Approximately 300 animals in 2 herds that we milked and milked and yes Milked! When you look at the hard work that goes into getting a product on the supermarket shelf you soon wonder why easier methods of production have not been invented.

The cows produced young and these provide some of my fondest memories. Rows upon rows of little black and white faces only a few days or weeks old begging to be fed, begging to have clean bedding and some just begging to be loved. They could not do any of this themselves but one could easily get them to do at least part of it.

Bucket feeding. A labour intensive task using a blend of real milk and powder heated up and poured into buckets. A calf cannot drink from a bucket naturally. It is not known immediately from birth that one must stick ones head in the bucket to be fed. 2 options are open to start this process and both can be equally hard work.

Option 1 - a teat on the bucket. It may seem simple but to get calf to suck a plastic teat is not easy. Problem! The teat is on the side and does not teach the calf to stick it's head in the bucket but merely teaches it to suck.
Option 2 - fingers in calf mouth and pull gently into the bucket of warm milk. 90% of calves hate this and kick up an absolute fuss but eventually they succeed. For the 10% that fail it's back to the teat!

Eventually the calves know instinctively to dunk their head in the bucket and they will find food and before long they are hungry for more.

The real thing that comes from this memory is determination and for this you need to find the motivation. In my early years working on the farm the motivation was to get the job done and get back into the warm and get home. As time progressed and I understood the economics of it the motivation came from the determination to produce better livestock sooner with minimal illness and it all starts with milk in a bucket and something that cannot help itself.

Some years later I would see calves that I had taught to feed themselves becoming hungry for more forming part of the grown herd producing their own young and the cycle goes on.

Life and business are exactly the same. Motivation to succeed and the determination to be motivated further are lessons we need to learn. We all need to learn to find out how to use our bucket, many of us are very much stuck on the teat but a handful have grown back into the herd and are teaching others to succeed. I do this daily with my business, teach others the basics and they soon teach others. Visit today http://www.bemotivatedtoday.com/48925

Why put off to tomorrow if you can do it yesterday?

It is yesterday. Yes I said “Its yesterday”. Motivation is not about getting out there and doing things tomorrow or even today but anytime. I have chosen Yesterday.

By the time you read this it will be tomorrow well today or even a few days time if you are looking at older posts.

The real point I am trying to make is that time is really valuable and can be turned. We cannot change history but we can make the most of the time we have at any given point in time. Imagine being able to unwaste time. All those moments where when you look back time was wasted. How much would you pay for it?

I have learned to make the most of the moment. A contact of mine on Linked-In said that by making some positive changes in her life has meant her doing some unusual things often on the spur of the moment. How many of you would give up your corporate salary to simply drop everything and travel the world or work from home for only 2 or 3 hours a day for what could be anything but a corporate salary? Some people do this almost ever day and I myself am on the verge of doing something just as mad in the very near future.

Look back at the time you have wasted? How much time was it? 10 minutes? 10 days? 10 years? Do you wish you could have done something or have you kicked yourself for not doing something?

Carpe Diem!

Stop!

Draw a line in the sand and make the changes. Take back yesterday. I am taking back a loot of yesterdays with my business and am teaching others to do the same. Want to join me? C’mon make the change! Visit my website and make the first step towards making up for the time you have wasted!

Black and white in full colour

It's amazing how much better some things look in black and white. A full colour photo has all the colours of the rainbow but when converted to black and white there is simply something magical.

Business, success and life are all things many of us picture in full, 3-dimensional colour. We live life, most of us, in a world of colour and we celebrate success with Gold, Silver and bronze. Now turn your visions into black and white. What is left?

When turning things into black and white you are left with the essentials - light and dark. Success is about knowing the essentials and focusing purely on them. Seeing the light and the dark brings the important things into focus and it is these things that essentially motivate us. Yes, we all have to do some of the less important things, the things that often don't excite us but by focusing on the important things our levels of motivation and confidence rise considerably making the less wonderful a bit more cheerful.

Remember Mary Poppins - A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down! So now imagine what lots of sugar can do - correct! You hardly notice the medicine.

My website and business will help you swallow the medicine of life and will help you succeed. Pay it a visit, learn how just being motivated can become the habit of a lifetime and also see how you can make a really good income from just helping others understand when you have learnt!

Pyramids built by slaves

Thousands of years ago I think the Egyptian rulers had pretty big egos. They loved themselves and somehow were very capable of creating the same feeling among their people making them love the leader as much as the leader loved him or herself.

So much so that the people were willing to do anything for their leader simply out of love. Slaves, beaten to a pulp by slave masters built pyramids simply because they loved their leader. Motivation was driven by love or being scared not to love.

So does having a slave master with whip motivate a person. Most of us hate being slaves and working for an often ungrateful employer. We work from month to month for a salary effectively building a pyramid for our own ruler. If you are motivated enough to get out of bed each day and toil for a boss why aren't you motivated to do your own thing and come out on top with your own pyramid?

I have been the same for many of my 40 years until only a short while ago I was introduced to the superb opportunity flashing in the top left hand corner of this blog. For me it is not and was not about the money as I learned a long time ago there is no such thing as instant wealth, it was about understanding how money, wealth and happiness are managed in life. My own business has now come out of this and can teach you the basics to get out there and make your life your life!

So, please carry on building a pyramid for someone else if you really want to but if you don't want to follow me and visit my Website

The layers of a road

Last night as I drove home I was sat in heavy traffic. Tired from a full day a work but satisfied. My son has been off school unwell and my wife was at home to play nurse for him. I thought to myself if only my wife could be a stay-at-home mother. What a pleasure it would be.

I went to the shops and bought the basic groceries we needed at home and on my way back from the shop I sat and stared at the roadworks where a new road was being built.

I looked closely at how the work was being done and realised that teamwork was essential for the road to be a success. Building a road I realised is a like building a business or even living a life. With numerous layer of sand, rock, stone and tar there is a great deal more that is not seen that makes the road what it is.

The planning. The routing. The earth Moving. The forward thinking knowing where this road has to go, where it will come out and how it interacts with the other roads in the area.

To be successful in life you need to understand the layers in your life. Not just the layers that make you up as a human being but the often invisible layers around you. Appreciating those you interact with and taking something of value from every interaction even when you may be discussing something not exactly happy or something that is in actual fact bad news.

I have many useful tips and motivational tools on my website. Pay me a visit at http://www.bemotivatedtoday.com/48925 and begin a journey on a road, your road, a real road that will really be a road you enjoy.

Thunderstorms to clear the air

Its amazing the power of a storm. Violent at times, lethal at times but after the storm...calm.

Storms like those experienced in Cape Town in the last 24 hours are the result of a heat wave and bring temperatures back down to normal. Working to hard is very much the same and the reward depending upon the before and during is often or a least hopefully worthwhile.

I have in recent days and weeks worked hard, very hard and in my full time job have seen little great results. Despite the hard work and toil the market for my full time work is tough at the moment and driven by price in a market where price should not really be the driving force. his says to me very clearly that the market is tough, very tough. Chances are not being taken, change is held off and why? Why, because of money and the economy of course.

The recession has impacted many and it will take some time to fully recover. Business and people are tending to play safe.

However, the few that are motivated enough or those with a little vision can now play on this playing safe attitude. It is well known that in times of hardship more millionaires are often made and those that do not understand that to remain a millionaire you need a pipeline not a bucket soon lose the Millionaire status.

I am aspiring to millionaire status. I have made the decision to work hard and smart at the same time. Many would say don't work hard but work smart. My reply is that if you work hard smart or smart hard you can intensify the results! My website http://www.BeMotivatedToday.com/48925 tells you how to work both smart and hard and win!

Visit my site today or feel free to contact me and I'll happily tell you how to achieve success.

It's weekend so I'll keep it brief.

How many of us just want to switch off from work on the weekend. Off goes the mobile phone. Off goes the PC for work applications but the Internet remains on for games.

I am making money. I am now about to get out there and do something. I am motivated enough to know others are missing the opportunity.

Seeing around the corner

When I was a kid my cousin convinced me that a picture I showed him in a book was a German gun that allowed them to shoot round corners. I thought at my young age of about 8 or so that this was awesome. Shooting round corners meant you could kill the enemy and not even be seen. How awesome!

I think back to this and realise that no such gun could ever really exist for a couple of reasons. 1. Bullets need a straight barrel. 2. How the hell do you see what you are shooting at? In the 1940's CCTV and LCD screens with mini digital cameras were not even a twinkle in someones eye. But just imagine if you could see round corners?

Wanting to see what is around the corner motivates many people, they do everything possible to find out and whether they like the result or not they feel they have achieved something. For others the fear of not knowing what is around the corner holds them back. They do everything possible not to find out. Which are you?

In life there are new corners to overcome each and every day. The first often comes when we wake up "sunshine or rain" - we don't know until we wake up! These are every day corners we pretty much cannot avoid looking around and getting the answer.

When it comes to making money things are a little different. Many people hate the corners they encounter. The vast majority don't go the extra mile and simply give up as they are scared of the result having encountered the same or similar corner before. Over 90% of people fall into this category of person. But there are a handful that demand more corners as they persevere to get the answer and they have mastered the art of looking around corners to get the result they want.

I can teach you the art of looking round corners or to be more honest how to not give up looking for and looking around the corner. Visit my website http://www.bemotivatedtoday.com/48925

Where there's smoke...

As I look out at the spectacular Table Mountain I can see a small plume of smoke rising from the foot of the equally spectacular Lions Head. Whilst the mountain is perhaps 15km away from me I can nonetheless see the smoke and seeing the smoke means there is fire.

This got me thinking about money and the creation of it. Where there is money there is wealth and more money to be made. We can all see money every day whether it be a few cents or pennies or multi-million dollar amounts. Sadly, unlike the smoke where the fire can be easily found with the money the wealth is less easy to find or even find at all. Because of this many of us are frustrated about money and the creation of it. Many of us play the lottery in the hope of changing our lives for ever (see above - and try it!). The chances of winning are many millions to one, someone always wins eventually and many win small prizes. But does a win change your life?

The answer is no. Yes you have money in your pocket but your LIFE has not changed. To change your life and feel like you have won the lottery every day you need to change your way of thinking and your attitudes towards money. Money and wealth are 2 very different things.

There is a system that really teaches you how to make wealth. It's very much about finding the fire where the smoke is. Imagine you had lots of little fires to light, you want to create lots of smoke but you only have a handful of sparks. How would you do it? You would use your sparks carefully and place them in places they would ignite and create a fire and then create more sparks. It only starts with one spark. Making money is the same and it takes a small amount to money to make more money that in turn makes more and so on. Nothing difficult. My website provides you with the kindling wood to start a tremendous fire or in this case a pile of money that comes in each and every month.

What is the other downside of a fire?

Eventually a fire needs more to burn. Fuel is essential. You fill your car up on Monday and a few days later you put more fuel in because it has run out. Your fuel has burnt and needs replacing.

The same goes for money and wealth. You need to keep replacing it or it simply gets spent. That is where a regular supply is needed. My website again shows you how to do this.

So....you want smoke, you want fire?

But your smoke and fire you really want is money and more money?

Visit my website and start smoking!

Not just when the sun shines

When you wake up and it is dark, cold and wet outside how often do you really feel like placing that first toe outside your bed? To be honest, until a short while ago I hated cold, damp and bloody miserable mornings. Nothing made my morning coffee taste worse than knowing I had to go outside into the cold miserable rain. Added to this was going to work. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!

Nowadays, when the rain is beating down and the damp air is far from wonderful I simply pick myself up and get on with life. Something has changed in me, something is motivating me.

I spent the early part of my life working on a farm. To tell the truth I was a fine weather farmer. All those I worked with said "it's not a job but a lifestyle" I always knew I cold change both but never knew how. Farming can be the most wonderful job in the world when the lambs are skipping around the fields and the spring sunshine makes the meadows feel like something out of this world. Wow! On top of the world for a season. Then the clouds come in, the mornings get darker, the wind blows, the rain falls and the waterproof clothing does not live up to being waterproof. I hated getting up at 4.30 on these miserable mornings, I did because I had to. I needed the roof over my head, the money in my pocket. But was there an easier way to make money, enjoy life and work hard doing what I wanted to and when I wanted to???

Only almost 22 years later did I find the way. I have been through, and still have the now yellowing sign up forms, for Amway. My mother tried Amway in the UK in the early 1980's. She wasn't very good at it, the motivation wasn't there - well she had 4 kids to look after for a start so time was something she never had nor the motivation in retrospect. But the schemes are all there, every get rich scheme on the planet many doomed from the outset for the wrong people. Yes, some people to make it to the top with Amway but more don't than actually do. I personally don't want to attend hyped up weekly meetings in halls that get ever bigger filled with more and more suckers cheering for emerald this and diamond down line the other. If I am going to make money I don't need the world to cheer me on, I just need to see the money in my bank in a currency I can use.

So I joined Be Motivated Today. I spend about 15 minutes a day following what seems like a boring repeat repeat repeat system but this repeat repeat repeat works. I read motivational books and comments, I encourage others to do so and then get them into the repeat repeat repeat. Fresh ideas keep me ahead of the pack and I tell those in my network some (not all) of my secrets to making this a success. Do you want to see how a fine weather farmer has finally got on a road to success? If you do then visit http://www.bemotivatedtoday.com/48925 for a free 9 day trial backed by open people who even give you their phone number!

123 Motivate me

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Do you go to bed happy?
These 2 questions with the right answer lead to health, wealth and happiness.

Whilst our definitions of Wealth and Happiness may differ Health is certainly the same the world over. Having what we perceive as Wealth creates that much needed sense of well being and that well being creates Happiness.

If you are motivated to get out of bed in the morning and are confident that your day ahead is going to be great then you are on your first step to a happy and healthy life!

If you have managed to survive the day, do what you have to do and arrive back in bed Happy then you have obviously not just taken the second step but many more in between.

What are those steps in between?

Here is a great start visit my website and begin to learn!
