My Favourite Day

"What day is it?" asked Pooh. "Its today" squeaked Piglet. "My favourite day" said Pooh.

Its pouring with rain in Cape Town as I sit and write this today. Its freezing cold outside, well as cold as Cape Town can get in winter. Its grey and overcast and pretty damn gloomy in Cape Town too. Not an ideal day to be a favourite day!

This quote came to mind early this morning as it was retweeted and  really made me smile and made me think. Everyone seems to hate a Monday, love a Friday and enjoy any day when they do not have to work. Why can't and Why isn't every day a day to enjoy?  Why isn't every day a favourite day?

Today, like every day this week and every day going forward is going to be my favourite day. Every day is unique and by deciding its a favourite will make sure it is filled with as much luck, success and happiness as possible.

This change of mindset making every day a favourite can make your life as gentle and fun as a day from any Winnie the Pooh story. Look at the stories A A Milne wrote, every one of them has Pooh and/or someone in his group of friend needing to overcome something and everything always turns out well in the end. The reason why it turns out well is because the intent of making the day a favourite day and making is a success.

Make every day your favourite day.  Don't try it.. do it!

A Measure of Luck

Nothing makes a person happier than good luck.  How do you feel when good luck is on your side? How do you feel when bad luck hits you?  The emotions are at oposite ends of the scale.

Today I decided, when I woke up in the dark that my day would be filled with good luck. I decided only good stuff would happen and that I will find the good in absolutely everything. My day has been awesome and filled with positive results.

Any one can do it and any measure of good luck creates a feeling inside like a drug where you crave more. Most of us don't know where to look for it so we can't get more and slip back down to normality. Today I changed my mindset and did not, have not, allow myself to feel anything other than awesome.

The luck started last night, I planned it, I slept on it and put the plan into action this morning.

Anyone can do it, its just about not letting those negative feelings hit you.  And luck is not just winning money or a bet its much more than that and often so tiny we tend to ignore it.  I have written down a journal of my luck today and it makes interesting reading from Green Traffic lights to superb outcomes of business meetings indeed one killing 3 bird with one stone!! Luck some would say put me where I was, Rubbish I made myself there LUCK had nothing to do with it I just planned for a positive outcome and got it!

Plan for a lucky day.  Don't try it... Do it!

When the bug knocks you

I have been knocked for 6 with a flu bug. Wow my body went downhill fast and every time I got up I fell back down.

There are times when you physically need to rest, "doctors orders" was what we were all told once upon a time.  In todays mad, crazy world how often do we really, truly rest?  I must admit as a confessed workaholic I often don't, having a 9 year old son also adds to the pace of life.

The best motivation at times is to listen to your body and just rest.  I slowed down yesterday and took a half day. By 5pm I was fast asleep in dreamland and my body was slowing down.

This morning I woke from a perfect, dream-filled sleep full of energy, bubbling with happiness and ready to tackle the day ahead.  I tackled my day head on and have had a marvelous, successful day.

If I had not rested I guarantee I would have felt dreadful again this morning.

So Rest and don't feel bad because you Rest.

Don't try it,  Do it!

Comfort Zone Uncomfort

A few days ago I was grumpy and miserable and was talking to a dear and special friend. Lee-Ann was down, depressed, brokenhearted and said she had no reason to live about 9 months ago. I reappeared into her life and began talking about her future, we spoke and chatted and came as close to being a boyfriend and girlfriend can be without being boyfriend and girlfriend. I told her to get out of her comfort zone and do her own thing, resign from her job and just do it.

After heartache and tears and a day spent trying to write a letter of resignation she decided not to quit in the first month of the new year as wanted. In her mind she had made a plan to do it but was in a bit of a comfort zone. After 4 months of being in the comfort zone she had eventually made up her mind, she wasn't going far and she wasn't unhappy but she wanted more. To get more she had to step out of her comfort zone.

On 1st May 2012 Lee-Ann became self-employed as a professional photographer. She is a superb photographer, green to the world of being self-employed and above all in a new comfort zone where she  now knows she has to fend for herself. Amazingly she has had massive support from family, friends and even strangers. She stepped out and is now doing it.

It was Lee-Ann that told me to step out of my comfort zone and just do it, if I wanted success and to be a man I had to I was told. Its a horrible thought to step out of a place of comfort and security but for absolute happiness I know I have to and am doing so - its what I term comfort zone uncomfort and it can apply to all minor and major decisions in your life. If you carrying doing things a similar or the same way you will get similar or the same result every time, if that result is the right result then continue but for many it is not - so change!

To step out of a comfort zone is never easy but it will never kill you, the only way for success and happiness to increase (unless you have enough) is to change.

So today, step out of your comfort zone and get a little uncomfortable.

Don't try it... do it!

Wake up with a smile

To wake up is something we all take for granted. How often does your day ahead get impacted by how and when and even where you woke up?

If you could go to bed and choose to wake up with knowing that tomorrow will be 100% worry free would you?  There is an easy way to do this, its so easy that few of us actually do it.

Napoleon Hill recommended "A Hearty Laugh" first thing in the morning. Its better than Gym miles and it does so much for you it is quite literally not funny! With a laugh comes a smile.

Waking up with a smile will not take away any problems you might have but it will help you cope with them in a different manner and give you better results. The more times you wake up with even just a smile the better your days will become and the fewer your problems will be. Build this up to Napoleon's "Hearty Laugh" and wow your days are filled with success, joy and happiness. Why do you think so many radio stations play a comedy minute in the morning? There is no better get up and go than being Happy!

Don't try it... Do It!
