The proof is in the pudding
The original phrase “the proof of the pudding is in the
eating” basically means you have to try the pudding before you know what’s in
it and how it tastes.
How then would this apply to your life? If you were to take a bite out of your life
as if it were pudding how would you feel? What pudding is it? What would your taste
buds tell you? Would you gobble it all up and in true Oliver Twist style say “please
sir can I have some more”? Would you swear a the chef and vow never to eat at
the restaurant again?
It’s a funny thing life, but like a good pudding it’s made
up of many ingredients, there is not really a recipe although there are so many
that will sell you the recipe for success without batting an eyelid. The recipe
and the ingredients are unique to us all, and more than that we can choose the
ingredients and the quantity of them from an abundance of stock from a never
ending pantry of good stuff that most of us don’t even no exists.
In my forthcoming book “The House at the top of the hill” a
character, a young boy aged about 10 discovers a pantry and cannot believe what
is in it. He is told “Everything here, John, was grown in the garden of the
Brae”. A pantry so full of things grown right in the garden of the house in
which the pantry is, the young boy is amazed and begins to question and with
this he learns. Life’s pantry is exactly the same but the vast majority of us
can’t even see the door to enter it and when we do we never question and thus
we never learn.
I am now in life’s pantry, asking questions, getting
answers, receiving more questions but above all learning.
What is your life pudding like? Can you, would you change the recipe?
You can change the recipe. If your life right now is a bit
bland, or maybe too salty of even if it’s just a bowlful of gooey green slop
then it can be changed. Planning is just a part of the change but adding the
ingredients is the fun part.
So you can choose if you want a dainty strawberry shortcake,
a rich Christmas pudding, a to die for chocolate cake or even grandma’s world
famous apple pie. My book features a blackberry crumble can you believe it, it
appears in the very first chapter and I have to admit I could taste it with all
my senses as I wrote about it – NOTE:
this
feeling is what makes the Law of Attraction work!
