Failing to plan is planning to fail – and when the plan fails?

Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail, a common and often overly used phrase. I have got into the habit of planning every day. You must to!

Every morning I get up half an hour earlier than intended and during the course of the prior day I write down notes that I know I will need to include in my plan for the next day thus my today plan forms part of my tomorrow plan.

This little routine has changed my life for the better and it will change yours too!

A few weeks back I became very frustrated if my plan did not go exactly as planned.  I felt as if my plan had failed. But….It had not and why had it not?  It had not because of the Law of Attraction and as I looked back at what had happened in my plan for the day I noticed a really awesome fact. My plan more often than not had changed for positive reasons, things I had attracted. For example as a sales person I know I have a certain number of calls to make to get my sale, using a planned day these calls become very systematic and now really flow well. However, because of  a very structured and thought about (note the word thought) plan the results started to come in and because results were coming in it took time out of my plan (my calls) to close the sale or address the matter of the sale. So my failed plan, as a result of repeating the procedure had not failed it had indeed succeeded – remember the scene in the Secret where the animals come running through the room, well this is that scene outlining that thank goodness there is a time delay in what we think about becoming reality. Your plan is thought about, by sticking to it you are subconsciously thinking about it and results happen. The only part of my plan that had failed was the number of calls made, those calls were and now are placed in the plan for the next day – they are time managed!

So, when the plan fails take a careful look. Has it failed?  Look at what you think made it fail… was it a good thing or a bad thing?  I can tell you now, if it was a bad thing it was because you kept thinking I must make this plan work, and not thinking about the result of the plan; you were thinking about the action of completing the plan and because of this you will always be completing the plan and thus every obstacle in the world will come your way to keep you in the process of completing the plan. If it “failed” for good reasons such as sales or having to collect a prize you have won then you are doing things right, the mind knows the plan, it knows what is has to do to complete the plan and you are more focused on the goal and the reward – well done! – and because you are thinking of the goal and the gain the goal and the gain will come and this will begin to repeat. This took me decades to work out and when I started to deliberately apply my planning it really got me down at first until I realised just what I have just told you, don’t give up as I have in the past you have to persevere and review your plan daily and think about it differently.

Your plan cannot fail, it may change but the plan itself will never fail if deliberate planning and better timekeeping and that extra half an hour in the morning become habit!

Plan and think  differently…  that’s all you need to grow and succeed!
